Pre-preps:

1.

Pick, wash, soak and drain rice.

2.

Slice onions finely. Apply salt and keep aside for 10 minutes. Squeeze the water.

Method:

1.

Heat fat and fry onions in hot fat till golden brown. Drain on an absorbent paper. In the same fat, add whole garam masala and reheat slowly.

2.

Add rice and fry well stirring continuously. Add salt and boiling water (twice the quantity of rice). Mix once and cook till done.

3.

Serve hot garnished with fried onions.
